The new port being built in Mesaieed in Doha has been named Hamad Port, just like its new airport.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday renamed the port.
The port is 4 km long with water alongside at a depth of 17 m.
The first phase will be fully operational in late 2016 and once complete it will be able to handle 6m teu a year. (Ast)
